Alter Bridge new album update: The band’s upcoming studio album is almost ready to mix
It’s official: Alter Bridge is closing in on their new album, which will mark the band’s sixth studio record. The guys have been writing and recording the new album throughout March and April, and now, Alter Bridge frontman Myles Kennedy states that he has finished all of his vocals for the new set.
The frontman posted a photo to his official Instagram account in front of a microphone, with the photo caption, “Final vocal,” with a check mark. In the caption, he adds, “(Myles Kennedy) rhythm and lead guitars” with a check mark, and “Alter Bridge record #6 almost ready to mix.” View the photo below.
Earlier this year, Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti told Audio Ink Radio that the band was shooting to release their new album in fall 2019, adding “October is kind of the target.”
As for the sound on the next record, Tremonti said, “You’re always growing. Always taking in new experiences. Sometimes it’s good to get the really heavy stuff out with (his solo band) Tremonti so I can come back to Alter Bridge and do the more atmospheric and moody stuff. Working with Myles, he’s such a great singer, and it’s great to leave a lot of space and room for his great vocals. With Tremonti, sometimes it’s more straight-forward and heavy, and I like to get a little more experimental with Alter Bridge.”
Tremonti added that he was writing Alter Bridge demos while on the road with Sevendust and his solo band, Tremonti. He also said that Alter Bridge was planning to tour the end of 2019.
