Guns N’ Roses to Headline 2019 Louder Than Life Festival
The 2019 Louder than Life festival has announced its first headliner, and it’s rock legend Guns N’ Roses
Guns N’ Roses has been tapped as the first official act to headline the 2019 Louder Than Life festival. This year’s festival will take place at the Highland Festival Grounds at KY Expo Center in Louisville, Kentucky, moving from its previously held location of Champions Park in Louisville. The festival will take place Friday through Sunday, Sept. 27 through 29.
This will be Guns N’ Roses’ first time performing at the Louder Than Life festival and the band’s first U.S. concert since rocking Hawaii in December of 2018 for the Andy Irons Foundation. The legendary rockers reunited after decades apart for their Not In This Lifetime Tour, which kicked off in 2016, and that earned Guns N’ Roses the No. 2 highest grossing tour of all time. They have rocked more than 150 concerts for more than 5 million fans on the tour, including arenas, stadium and festivals.
“There are only a handful of bands through the years whose music not only resonates with fans, but changes the entire face of rock ‘n’ roll. Guns N’ Roses is one of those true icons,” festival producer Danny Wimmer said in a statement. “Every year we want to come back bigger and better, and we can’t wait to welcome Axl, Slash, Duff and the rest of GN’R to the Louder Than Life stage.”
Festival organizers will announce the full Louder Than Life lineup on Monday, April 8. Tickets also go on sale that day at 9 a.m. ET.

Guns N’ Roses’ current lineup features Axl Rose (vocals, piano), Duff McKagan (bass), Slash (lead guitar), Dizzy Reed (keyboard), Richard Fortus (rhythm guitar), Frank Ferrer (drums) and Melissa Reese (keyboard).
