Of Mice & Men Unleash New Song, ‘Mushroom Cloud’
Listen to Of Mice & Men’s new song, the fiery “Mushroom Cloud”
The guys of Of Mice & Men have released a new tune called “Mushroom Cloud.” The high-energy song is available now via digital outlets, and the music video may be streamed below via YouTube.
Regarding the story behind “Mushroom Cloud,” vocalist and bass player Aaron Pauley says, “I was pretty young when I became aware of the danger of spending too much time in my own head. My mind has never been a safe place for me to retreat to, and it’s something I have to consciously deal with on a daily basis.”
“‘Mushroom Cloud’ is our visceral representation of how it feels to be trapped,” he added. “How it feels to be cut down by your own inner voice, how it feels to have nowhere to hide, and how it feels to be someone with a mind that’s as dangerous to themselves as the aftermath of an atomic weapon.”
Earlier this year, Of Mice & Men released another new single, “How to Survive.” The band’s most recent album dropped in 2018, “Defy.”
Last month, Of Mice & Men canceled a handful of tour dates to give time for Pauley to undergo surgery to remove some pre-cancerous tissue. Now, Pauley is back, and the group is currently on the road with Beartooth. Find their current tour dates here, and read Audio Ink’s interview with Of Mice & Men’s Valentino Arteaga here.
