Sebastian Bach to Embark on ‘Skid Row’ 30th Anniversary Tour, Asks Band Members to Join Him
Skid Row’s self-titled debut album is turning 30, and Sebastian Bach will tour in honor of the anniversary
Skid Row is coming up on the 30th anniversary of their debut album, and even though Sebastian Bach and the guys of Skid Row aren’t performing together anymore, Bach will be performing those tracks on the road to celebrate that landmark anniversary.
Bach has announced a lengthy North American run kicking off Aug. 29 in Nashville, Tennessee, and running through a Nov. 2 date in Pinellas Park, Florida. On the tour, he’ll perform 1989’s “Skid Row” from front to back. That record includes the chart-topping ’80s singles “18 and Life,” “I Remember You” and, yes, “Youth Gone Wild.”
Tickets for the tour will go on sale to the general public starting Friday (June 7) at SebastianBach.com. On tour, Bach’s band will include Halford drummer Bobby Jarzombek, UFO bass player Rob DeLuca and former Vince Neil guitarist Brent Woods.
“In 1989 we put out the first record Skid Row,” Bach said in a statement. “Thirty years later, people still dig the music we created in a garage all those years ago.”
“It’s going to be fun to do something that has never been done live before!” he added. “We are looking forward to seeing you all for this one time event! Note: This concert is 100% live in every way! All real! All the time! No tapes! No fakes!”
He adds, “Come and see a real rock band while they still exist! We give it to you straight from the heart ‘cuz that’s the only way we know how! See you on the road!”
Bach became the singer of Skid Row in 1987, and he parted ways with the group in 1996. The band has continued on without him with a handful of different singers. Skid Row’s current singer is ZP Theart.
Speaking with Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation”, Bach said that he wants the former Skid Row band members to join him. “I would like to say right here right now [to] any original member in Skid Row — there’s five people in the world that can say that,” he said. “We all know who the five guys are that made that record. I have an open invitation out to any of those guys, if they would like to get onstage and jam. I don’t foresee that happening, but I’m throwing it out there.”
He added, “The bottom line is you only get so many ’30 years’s. It doesn’t roll around too often — a 30-year anniversary. So, would I like to celebrate it with the original members? Yes, I would. Of course I would. But who knows if I’m gonna get hit by a truck tomorrow. So we’re kind of like getting older now. So we can either shit or get off the pot, I think the saying goes.”
