Dream Theater to Perform Full ‘Scenes From a Memory’ Album on Fall 2019 Tour
Dream Theater is honoring the 20th anniversary of their “Metropolis Part 2: Scenes From a Memory” with a fall tour in which they’ll play the album in full
Dream Theater are road warriors, and the progressive rock band will continue that tradition later this year when they hit the pavement on the second North American leg of their Distance Over Time tour.
The tour will feature Dream Theater performing their famed “Metropolis Part 2: Scenes From a Memory” from front to back to celebrate the album’s 20th anniversary. Also expect to hear new songs off the band’s recently released album, “Distance Over Time,” and other Dream Theater classics.
The upcoming tour will kick off Sept. 26 in Louisville, Kentucky, and run through Nov, 11 in Kitchener, Ontario. Find the full list of tour dates below.
Dream Theater vocalist James LaBrie recently spoke with Audio Ink Radio about “Distance Over Time” and the band’s longstanding musical chemistry.
“When we’re together, whether we’re together to write another album or together rehearsing or together onstage, it’s an indescribable feeling,” he said. “It’s thrilling. I guess that would be the closest word to properly describe it— it’s a thrilling ride, each and every time, and it’s something that we all since we were kids have been extremely passionate about. It’s a world that we can walk into and know that we’re respected. We’re welcomed and fulfilled and absolutely gratified from the experience.”
