Lacuna Coil Prepping New Album, ‘Black Anima’
Lacuna Coil will return with the band’s ninth studio album, “Black Anima,” in October
Cristina Scabbia and the Lacuna Coil crew are back with their ninth studio album, “Black Anima,”slated to arrive on Oct. 11. The album marks the group’s much-anticipated follow-up to 2016’s “Delirium.”
“‘Black Anima’ is all of us. It’s you and it’s me. It’s everything we hide and fiercely expose to a world that’s halfway asleep. It is the fogged mirror we are peering into searching for the truth. It’s sacrifice and pain, its justice and fear, its fury and revenge, it’s past and future,” Lacuna Coil frontwoman Cristina Scabbia said in a statement.
“Human beings in the magnificence of a disturbing ambiguity,” she added. “The black core that balances it all… as without darkness light would never exist. We proudly present to you our new work and can’t wait to welcome you in our embrace. We are the Anima.”
Lacuna Coil has a busy year up ahead, as the band will embark on a European tour in November to promote “Black Anima” with Eluveitie and Infected Rain. The group is scheduled to perform on July 19 at Rock USA in Oshkosh, Wisconson, and rock a sold-out, two-night appearance at the Gramercy Theater in New York City on July 22 and 23. Lacuna Coil is expected to tour North America at some point, too, and will have those tour dates soon. For Lacuna Coil’s upcoming touring schedule and to pre-order “Black Anima,” head here.
Lacuna Coil’s most latest release, aside from new music, was “The 119 Show: Live in London” concert album and DVD, which arrived back in November 2018 to celebrate the group’s 20th anniversary of their debut album, “In a Reverie.”
