Metallica Announces Greta Van Fleet as Opener on 2020 South American Tour
Metallica and Greta Van Fleet are hitting the road together in 2020
Metallica is heading to South American in 2020 for a major stadium run, and they’re taking Michigan rockers Greta Van Fleet along for the ride. The tour is part of the group’s ongoing WorldWired international tour.
The new Metallica and Greta Ven Fleet dates set off April 15 in Santiago, Chile, and take the bands to Buenos Aires, Argentina, as well as Brazil.
For those who want to get up close with Metallica for more than one South American show, Metallica is offering their Wherever I May Roam Black Ticket for the South American shows, which they are also offering with their other WorldWired tour legs. One ticket runs %598 and gives floor access to all of the stops on the tour leg.

The upcoming South American dates mark the first 2020 shows Metallica has announced for their WorldWired tour. The tour started back in 2016 and is in support of Metallica’s latest album, “Hardwired…to Self-Destruct.” Metallica has promised that they will follow up “Hardwired” with a new album, but chances are, that will be well after touring wraps.
In other news, Metallica is in Europe right now on tour and will be back in the U.S. in September for two special concerts with the San Francisco Orchestra. The San Francisco shows will be filmed the upcoming concert film “S&M2.” Metallica is also slated to tour Australia and New Zealand this year with Slipknot opening on those dates.
