Slayer’s farewell tour traveled through Europe for the final time last weekend, and Tom Araya said goodbye to the fans

Slayer performed their final show in Europe last weekend, and longtime bass player and vocalist Tom Araya got emotional during the set. The metal titans performed in Stuttgart, Germany, for that final gig, and Araya sent out a heartfelt “thank you” to European fans during the performance.

In a video clip posted to Instagram by Frank Bello of Anthrax, which was an opening band on the tour, Araya is seen thanking the audience and saying goodbye. While it’s difficult to make out Araya’s exact words, he clearly gets emotional in the video, as he wipes his eyes with his shirt and puts his hands together to gesture “thank you” to the crowd.

“It was an emotional night…as Tom says goodbye to Europe,” Bello wrote in the photo caption. “@Slayerbandofficial rules.”

While Slayer has performed the band’s final European show, the band still has some North American concerts on the way. The final leg of Slayer’s farewell tour will kick off Nov. 2 in Asheville, North Carolina. The trash legends will stay on the road for the full month and perform their final concert ever on Nov. 30 at the Forum in Los Angeles. Find the band’s upcoming tour dates here.

Audio Ink Radio reviewed Slayer’s farewell tour during a recent Michigan stop. Read the review and find concert photos here.
