Disturbed, Metallica, Papa Roach, Staind + More Set for 2020 Epicenter Festival
Epicenter 2020 will bring a mix of classic and modern rock and metal bands to North Carolina
Metallica recently announced that the metal band would be headlining five U.S. music festivals next year, including Epicenter, and now, the full Epicenter Festival lineup is here. The festival — which is set for May 1 through 3 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina — will feature performances from Disturbed, Papa Roach, a reunited Staind and Deftones among others.
As for classic rock, Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth will perform on Friday, May 1, and Lynyrd Skynyrd will perform the next day. Metallica will perform two different headlining sets on May 1 and May 3.
“Metallica isn’t just another headliner. When Metallica takes the stage, it’s an event. It’s an experience,” said Danny Wimmer, founder of Danny Wimmer Presents. “That’s the same standard we’ve set for every DWP festival – from the first band to the last band, and everything that happens in between. I can’t wait to bring the biggest band in the world to the biggest rock festivals in America.”
He added, “Metallica paved this road that we travel. How many artists on the bill at these five festivals first picked up an instrument, or first started a band, because of Metallica?”
The 2020 Epicenter lineup will also feature performances from Godsmack, Anthrax, The Darkness, Cypress Hill, Chevelle, Rancid, Alter Bridge, HellYeah and Dropkick Murphys, to name a few.
