Tyler Connolly of Theory of a Deadman says the “timing couldn’t be better or worse” for the band’s new song, “Strangers”

Theory of a Deadman has released a new song called “Strangers,” which will appear on the band’s upcoming album, “Say Nothing.” The song is available for digital download and can be streamed via the YouTube player below. Theory of a Deadman vocalist Tyler Connolly spoke with Audio Ink Radio this week about the new song and the political climate in the U.S. right now.

“The timing couldn’t be better or worse (for “Strangers”) depending how you look at it,” he said. “What’s going on with the impeachment stuff, we’ve become so desensitized to what’s happening in American politics that whatever happens next won’t even impact us anymore. It’s gotten pretty bad, but I think the news is so tragic, and it’s gotten so low-brow on both sides– we’re not even picking a side.”

“I think that was the really strategic thing to do in this song was for everyone to see that we’re not picking a side,” Connolly added. “We’re just saying, ‘Hey, why are we all acting like this?’ It’s really embarrassing in the sense that we’re all trolling each other like it’s comments on a YouTube video. It’s ridiculous, because it’s all just opinions.”

“Say Nothing” will arrive on Jan. 31. The album will mark Theory of a Deadman’s follow-up to 2017’s “Wake Up Call.”
