Evanescence Releases Dramatic, Smoke-Filled Video for ‘The Chain’
Watch the new music video from Evanescence for their cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain”
Evanescence has debuted the music video for their cover of the Fleetwood Mac song “The Chain,” which the band recorded and released for the new “Gears 5” video game.
The music video for “The Chain” is a dramatic one, with Amy Lee and the band performing amid huge heaps to smoke and a deep, red background. Footage from the “Gears 5” video game is splattered throughout the clip.
Towards the end of the clip, drummer Will Hunt’s drum kit is on fire. This particular scene is a bit reminiscent of real life. At Slipknot’s 2019 Knotfest, both Evanescence and Slipknot’s sets were nixed due to a damaged barricade, and in turn, some attendees rioted, with some setting Hunt’s drum set on fire. It was a tragic night.
In other Evanescence news, the band has been working on a new album, which will mark their first set of fully original music since their 2011 self-titled release. The band released a special compilation record in 2017 called “Synthesis,” which featured popular songs from the band’s catalog re-recorded with electronic and orchestral touches. Evanescence will also perform at the 2020 Tokyo Download Festival and has a spring tour lined up with Within Temptation set to run in Europe from April 4 through April 24.
