Judas Priest to Embark on 50th Anniversary Tour with Sabaton
Judas Priest will celebrate their 50th anniversary of making metal with a major fall U.S. tour
Metal greats Judas Priest will ring in their 50th anniversary with a fall U.S. tour, called the “50 Metal Years Tour,” with metal comrades Sabaton opening for the run.
“Judas Priest are primed and ready to deliver the goods with our 50 Heavy Metal Years anniversary celebration stage show spectacular,” the band stated in a press release. “Performing a blistering cross section of songs from our lives in metal — we can’t wait to raise horns with you again at this once in a metal lifetime event!”
The tour will set off Sept. 9 in Oxon Hill, Maryland, and run through an Oct. 17 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Tickets for the trek will go on sale to the public this Friday (Feb. 28) via Ticketmaster, and pre-sale kicks off Tuesday (Feb. 25). Tickets are also available here.
Judas Priest got together in 1970 in Birmingham, England, and have created 18 studio albums since. The band’s most recent studio set is 2018’s “Firepower.”
Before the U.S. run, Rob Halford and the metal men will hit the road on a headlining European summer tour. Judas Priest is also working on a new album. The band’s current lineup features Halford, bassist Ian Hill, guitarists Glenn Tipton and Richie Faulkner and drummer Scott Travis.
