Killswitch Engage Releases “Atonement II” B-Sides EP for Charity
Killswitch Engage has released a six-song EP to benefit the COVID-19 Relief Fund for the Center for Disaster Philanthropy
Massachusetts metal band Killswitch Engage is doing its part to help in the fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic by releasing a B-sides EP for a good cause.
The group has unleashed “Atonement II B-Sides for Charity” to benefit COVID-19 Relief Fund for the Center for Disaster Philanthropy. The six-track collection features songs that were recording during the sessions for the latest Killswitch Engage album, 2019’s “Atonement,” and didn’t quite make the final release.
“These songs didn’t make the final cut for Atonement,” frontman Jesse Leach said in a statement. “Choosing which songs make an album remains a tough process for me. While the songs that made the most sense appear on the album, I’m still attached to every song I write.”
“When the idea came up to put these B-Sides out and donate funds to a charity, I was relieved at the idea and the band unanimously agreed to the cause,” he added. “I am proud these songs get to see a release, and to help others in the process is a huge bonus.”
“Atonement II B-Sides for Charity” is currently available via Bandcamp and will arrive at all digital platforms on Friday (May 8). All of the proceeds from the sale of the EP, which is being sold at a “pay what you want” price, will benefit the COVID-19 Relief Fund for the Center for Disaster Philanthropy.
