Metallica, Jane’s Addiction, Imagine Dragons and More Set for Lollapalooza 2020 Virtual Festival
Lolla2020 will take the place of this year’s Lollapalooza festival, featuring a bevy of online performances from Metallica, Jane’s Addiction, Imagine Dragons and more
Lollapalooza is going online this year, due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and organizers have announced the details of the virtual festival.
The online event, dubbed Lolla2020, will run four days and highlight archived footage of sets from past Lollapalooza, plus some new performances.
The list of artists included on the virtual Lollapalooza festival include Metallica, Jane’s Addiction, Imagine Dragons, Lorde, Arcade Fire, Alabama Shakes, Gary Clark Jr., Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age, LCD Soundsystem, Paul McCartney, Milky Chance, Portugal. the Man, Run the Jewels, Tenacious D, The Struts, Tom Morello, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Toni Cornell and The Neighbourhood, to name a few.
Some artists will also make “special appearances,” including Lars Ulrich of Metallica, LL Cool J, Chuck D and Common.
Some political figures will also make “special appearances,” including former first lady Michelle Obama and Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot.
A few extra special additions to Lollapalooza 2020 including a reunion for Lollapalooza co-founder Perry Farrell’s Porno for Pyros band, as well as Farrell performing songs from his 2019 solo album, “Kind Heaven,” with Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.
