Sevendust have released a new song, “Blood from a Stone,” which will appear on the band’s upcoming studio album, “Blood & Stone”

Sevendust has unleashed another taste of what to expect on their upcoming “Blood & Stone” album. The new track, called “Blood from a Stone,” marks the first new, original song the Atlanta metal band has shared off the upcoming set. Stream the pummeling track below.

“Blood from a Stone,” which is available to download now via digital outlets, follows Sevendust’s current single, a cover of Soundgarden’s “The Day I Tried to Live.” Both tracks will appear on “Blood from a Stone,” which will total 13 new songs.

“‘Blood from a Stone’ was inspired by the endurance and threshold of our band, the wins and the losses, the good and bad years,” guitarist Clint Lowery said in a statement. “That we have more to give, more to say and we pull that out of each other.”

“Blood & Stone” will feature longtime Sevendust band members Lajon Witherspoon on vocals; Clint Lowery and John Connolly on guitars; Vince Hornsby on bass; and Morgan Rose on drums. The lyric video for the track “Blood from a Stone” was created by Wayne Joyner, who has worked with Dream Theater and also crafted the music video for “The Day I Tried To Live.”

“Blood & Stone” will arrive on Oct. 23. It marks Sevendust’s 13th studio record.
