Halloween Costumes: Most Popular Costumes of the Year
This year’s list of the most searched for celebrity Halloween costumes features a range of pop stars, with a few classic rockers, to boot
It’s Halloween week, and Halloween costumes are on everyone’s minds. So, what are the most searched for Halloween costumes this year?
SEMrush, a company that tracks data trends, took at look at Google searches over the past month and targeted top 20 most popular celebrity costumes of 2020.
Topping the list is pop star Ariana Grande. It’s been a banner year for Grande, who kicked off the year with five Grammy nominations and releases new album, “Positions,” tomorrow (Oct. 29). Grande has also been topping fashion lists for her daring and dramatic looks this year, including her stunning black butterfly getup from the “Rain on Me” music video.
The second most popular celebrity costume of the year takes us back to the early-2000s, as Britney Spears is No. 2 this year. Fans seem to be dressing up in the vocalist’s early-2000s looks, including her cool outfit for her 2001 VMA performance of “I’m a Slave 4 U,” the school girl outfit in “Baby One More Time” or the red body suit from “Oops!…I Did It Again.”
A classic rocker, Cher, is No. 2 on the list, followed by Kylie Jenner and model Heidi Klum. Dolly Parton, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Cardi B and Pink also made the list.
This year’s list consists mainly of women, but the highest-ranking man costume is Elton John, who comes in at No. 10. View the full list below, and listen to the Audio Ink Radio Halloween Special via the podcast player.
