Listen to a new, stripped-down song from Grey Daze, the late Chester Bennington of Linkin Park’s early band
Chester Bennington’s pre-Linkin Park band Grey Daze has a new, acoustic EP on the way. The set, called “Amends…Stripped,” will feature five unplugged versions of tracks off the Grey Daze album, “Amends,” which arrived earlier this year.
Grey Daze complied “Amends” using Bennington’s original vocal tracks mixed with newly recorded instrumentals. “Amends…Stripped” will feature a similar aesthetic, with fresh acoustic instrumentals paired with alternate Bennington vocals that sound best in a stripped-down, unplugged setting.
Ahead of the EP’s release, Grey Daze has released an unplugged version of “Shouting Out.” The song is available now via digital outlets.
“One of the more interesting things about working with such a great singer like Chester, is the more you take away from his surroundings, the more you get to appreciate and hear all of the subtle nuances of his voice,” drummer Sean Dowdell said in a statement.
“He was a very special vocalist with an amazing writing ability,” Dowdell continued. “It was very meaningful for us to use these different vocal performances on the acoustic version of ‘Shouting Out.'”
“Amends…Stripped” will hit stores on Jan. 29, 2021. For more information on the release and its available configurations, visit the Loma Vista Recordings website.
