The new documentary telling the story of System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian, “Truth to Power,” will arrive in early 2021

“Truth to Power,” the documentary surrounding the life of System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian, will arrive on Feb. 19, 2021. The movie delves into Tankian’s extensive work on activism for social justice and human rights, especially as it relates to his homeland of Armenia.

“Truth to Power” will also highlight Tankian’s career with System of a Down. Tankian’s System band mates Shavo Odadjian and John Dolmayan are slated to appear in the film, as well as Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello and producer Rick Rubin.

“‘(Truth to Power)’ follows Tankian down an unexpected path as his passion for human rights and activism led him to become a social justice organizer in Armenia,” the documentary’s description states. “Fueled by interviews with the band, their producers, and fellow rock icons, Truth To Power is both an energizing rockumentary and an inspiring call to action for our turbulent times.”

In other news, last month, System of a Down released two new songs, marking their first bit of new music in 15 years. The songs, called “Protect the Land” and “Genocidal Humanoidz,” were released to support of Armenia during its war with Azerbaijan.
