Two Dio Live Albums to Be Reissued with Remastered Audio in 2021
Two Dio live releases will be available on vinyl for the first time in years via BMG’s upcoming reissues series
Two Dio live album reissues will arrive in early 2021. “Evil or Divine: Live in New York City” and “Holy Diver Live,” originally recorded in 2002 and 2005, respectively, will both be released with remastered audio and fresh cover art on Feb. 12.
The two releases will kick off an ongoing reissue series of Dio’s live albums in conjunction with BMG. The reissues will include some extras, such as bonus tracks and, for those who prefer their metal on wax, availability on high-quality, 180-gram vinyl. The reissues, which are available for pre-order here and here, will mark the first time both albums have been available on vinyl in years.
“I am very excited to be working with BMG, a label that still has a passion for rock music,” Wendy Dio, widow of the late Ronnie James Dio, said in a statement. “They will be making the complete Dio catalogue available again with some interesting surprises.”
Ahead of the reissues, BMG has released the “Evil or Divine” edition of “Lord of the Last Day” and the “Holy Diver Live” recording of “Holy Diver” via digital outlets. Both songs are available for download and can be streamed before. A live video for “Holy Diver” is also streaming via YouTube.
