Beartooth have announced the details of their forthcoming album, “Below.” The record, which will mark the Ohio band’s fourth, will hit stores on June 25. It will be their follow-up to 2018’s “Disease.”

“Below is by far my favorite album I’ve made to date,” frontman Caleb Shomo said in a statement. “It covers the dark side of dealing with mental strain during the last year. I gave it all I had — musically and lyrically.”

He added, “Is it too dark? Possibly, but it was as honest as I could be about how I felt. I hope everyone is ready to strap in for a wild ride of head banging and rocking.”

“Below” will include the previously released single “Devastation,” which arrived earlier this month. The album will also offer 12 original tracks.

In addition to the new album news, Beartooth – which features Shomo along with Zach Huston and Will Deely on guitars, Oshie Bichar on bass and Connor Denis on drums – have posted a music video for the new track, “The Past Is Dead.” The video takes fans back to pre-COVID-19 days, with a brutal live performance showing the band in their element. The video, which can be viewed below, features band members performing with an array of pyrotechnics in the background.

Shomo says that “The Past Is Dead” was one of the first tracks written for the new album. He added, “Various versions have been in the bank for about two years now and it really set the tone for the whole album writing process. The video is meant to depict the beginning of the journey to the deepest and darkest parts of my mind, which was the fuel used to make ‘Below.'”
