Saliva to Release ‘Every Twenty Years’ EP with New Versions of ‘Every Six Seconds’ Tracks
Saliva are honoring the 20th anniversary of their “Every Six Seconds” album with an EP featuring re-recorded versions of songs off the set
Saliva’s seminal 2001 studio album “Every Six Seconds” turns 20 years old this year, and the band is honoring that anniversary with a new EP. The set, called “Every Twenty Years,” will feature fresh versions of popular songs from “Every Six Seconds,” including the hit singles “Your Disease” and “Click Click Boom,” recorded by Saliva’s current Saliva lineup.
Saliva’s current roster includes singer Bobby Amaru in leu of founding frontman Josey Scott, as well as Wayne Swinny on guitar, Paul Crosby on drums and Brad Stewart on bass. Amaru became a member of Saliva in 2011, after Scott left the band, and he’s consistently toured and recorded new music with the band.
During a recent interview, when asked about the “Every Six Seconds” era of the band, Amaru of Saliva told Audio Ink Radio, “You could say that at the time when the band broke, it was a time music was thriving and selling, and I think they’re one of the lucky ones, because it’s very hard to make it these days as a new artist, especially in rock.”
He added, ” I think it goes back to the songs. They had a lot of great songs that connected to people, and MTV helped at the time, because they were supporting videos then. I’ve met a lot of cool fans that have been here since day one, and I’ve been here eight years, and it’s been a great run.”
“Every Twenty Years” will arrive May 7 via Megaforce. In advance of the release, Saliva have unleashed their new version of “Your Disease,” and the track is available now via digital outlets. A documentary on the band’s history is also scheduled to arrive this spring, according to a release.
