Travis Barker Talks Dating Kourtney Kardashian: ‘It Just Comes Natural’
Travis Barker of Blink-182 says dating Kourtney Kardashian is “a maturity thing,” since they both are parents
Travis Barker was a recent guest on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” and during his appearance, the topic came up about his relationship with Kourtney Kardashian. On the segment, which can be viewed below, Barrymore and the Blink-182 drummer started talking about their love lives, and Barrymore said that she was starting to date again and looking for some dating advice.
Specifically, Barrymore asked if she should date a fellow single parent, like herself, or someone who doesn’t have any kids. In response, Barker explained that he used to date women “who didn’t have kids,” until he started dating Kardashian. Now, he says being with another parent offers a “maturity” his other relationships lacked.
On some of the issues he had dating women without children, he explained Barrymore, “I find it kind of hard, because I think they would have trouble understanding, like ‘Why don’t you want to go to dinner every night with me? Or why don’t you want to see me every night?'”
He added regarding Kardashian, “I’m spending time with a woman who’s a great mom, who’s a great friend, and you don’t have to worry about any of those things. It just comes natural.”
“It’s a maturity thing,” he said. “I also like missing someone and cherishing the time that I spend with them, instead of every day being with them. Especially in the beginning of the relationship. I think missing someone’s so important.”
Barker and Kardashian, who have reportedly been friends for years, made their romantic relationship official in January. Kardashian has three kids: 11-year-old Mason, 8-year-old Penelope and 6-year-old Reign. Barker also has three kids: 17-year-old Landon, 15-year-old Alabama and 21-year-old stepdaughter Atiana.
