Judas Priest Announce New 50th Anniversary Tour Dates with Sabaton
Judas Priest will celebrate their 50th anniversary with an extensive tour of North America this fall
Judas Priest were supposed to celebrate their 50th anniversary as a band last year, but the outing was postponed, and some dates canceled, due to the worldwide pandemic. Now, the metal greats are back with a full roster of tour dates for 2021 to properly honor 50 years of heavy metal.
“Defending the heavy metal faith for fifty years, the Priest is back!” Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford said in a statement.
The tour will set off Sept. 8 in Reading, Pennsylvania, and run through a Nov. 5 date in Hamilton, Ontario. In total, the band will perform nearly 40 shows over the course of three months.
“Time to don the leather and studs and roll out the Priest Machine,” added guitarist Glenn Tipton. “Celebrating our 50 Heavy Metal Years!!”
Ian Hill continued, “After the horrific year of restrictions we’ve all had to endure, what better place to break free, than the land of the free – the USA!”
Tickets for the newly announced dates go on sale this Friday (June 11) at 10 a.m. local venue time via Ticketmaster. Tickets for the rescheduled shows will still be honored.
Also included in the itinerary is a music festival spearheaded by Judas Priest called Warlando, set for Sept. 11 in Orlando, Florida. That festival will feature Priest, Sabaton, Soulfly, Lacuna Coil, Mushroomhead and more. View the full tour roster below.
Last year, Halford released his debut memoir, “Confess,” and spoke with Audio Ink Radio about the venture. Find the full interview with Rob Halford here.
