Soul Asylum Heading Up U.S. Tour with Local H and Juliana Hatfield
Soul Asylum will embark on a U.S. tour featuring fellow ’90s alternative rocks Local H and Juliana Hatfield in August
Soul Asylum released their latest studio album, “Hurry Up and Wait,” last fall, but the band wasn’t able to tour on the release due to the ongoing pandemic. Thankfully, that’s changed, as touring is opening up, and Soul Asylum has announced a lengthy summer and fall U.S. tour.
The trek, dubbed the “Back In Your Face” tour, features support from fellow ’90s mainstays Local H and Juliana Hatfield. Dates kick off Aug. 3 in Reading, Pennsylvania, and currently run through a Sept. 18 show on the Lawn Maple Grove in Minnesota, with more dates to be announced.
Local H are touring on their latest release, 2020’s “Lifers.” Meanwhile, Juliana Hatfield recently released her new album, “Blood.”
Soul Asylum’s last full concert took place on March 11, 2020, at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles. Even when the band was stationed at home, Pirner and guitarist Ryan Smith performed Friday night “Quarantine Sessions” from Pirner’s living room and stayed connected with fans.
“Being off the road and at home for this last 15 months has been as hard on all of us, as it has everyone in the world really,” Soul Asylum lead vocalist Dave Pirner said in a statement. “We haven’t been in one place, for this long, in the history of the band. We can’t wait to get back to the road and see our fans, get ready because these shows are going to be special!”
The current Soul Asylum line-up features Dave Pirner as lead vocals/guitar, Michael Bland on drums, Ryan Smith on lead guitar, and Wynston Roye on bass. View the band’s current tour roster below, and for updates, visit SoulAsylum.com.
