Testament, Exodus, and Death Angel Announce U.S. Tour Dates
Thrash metal will untie on the upcoming “The Bay Area Strikes Back Tour” featuring Testament, Exodus, and Death Angel
All is well in the world of thrash, as three major bands from the Bay Area metal scene are coming together for a tour. Testament, Exodus, and Death Angel will bring their “The Bay Area Strikes Back Tour” this fall, with dates kicking off in October.
The famed Bay Area thrash groups headed out on the European leg of the tour back in 2020, but then, the pandemic hit, and multiple members off the involved bands came down with the virus. Testament singer Chuck Billy, Exodus guitarist Gary Holt and Death Angel drummer Will Carroll were among the band members who came down with COVID-19, and Carroll was actually hospitalized with the disease and put in a coma and on a respirator. Thankfully, all three have recovered.
Now, the band are together once again, with COVID-19, hopefully, behind them. The U.S. leg of the tour sets off Oct. 6 in San Luis Obispo, California, and hits venues across the U.S. before wrapping up Nov. 27 with a hometown gig in Oakland, California.
“Finally we are able to announce this suspended tour due to the COVID-19 pandemic!” Testament’s Eric Peterson said in a statement. “We are totally excited to get out on the road again and continue where we left off supporting our newest release ‘Titans of Creation!'”
Tickets for the shows will go on sale to the general public starting at 10 a.m. local venue time Thursday (July 1) via Tickemaster. Pre-sales start today (June 29). View the full list of tour dates and listen to Audio Ink Radio’s interview with Chuck Billy of Testament below.
