Adema Return with New Song, Launch Fall Tour with Flaw on Wednesday
Listen to a new song from nu-metal behemoths Adema, the very personal “Ready to Die”
Nu-metal seems to be all the rage again, as bands such as Limp Bizkit are seeing their biggest surge in popularity since the late-1990s and early-2000s. Now, one of nu-metal’s most familiar names, Adema, recently released a new single, “Ready to Die,” and it’s a track that pays homage to the hurdles they’ve overcome over the years.
The band welcomed their new frontman, Ryan Shuck, in 2019. Their upcoming album, titled “360 Degrees of Separation,” marks the band’s first with Shuck in the fold.
“I was at a point where I was absolutely ready to die,” Shuck, who went into rehab in 2020, said in a statement. “My system for living was not working anymore. I was crushed by the grief of losing one of my closest friends (Chester Bennington) to the same demons. I had been suicidal and severely depressed for years, and had no way out. I was in a living hell.”
Shuck added, “The song is in some ways me dealing with myself in the mirror, but I very much think the concept also applies to anyone that is finally ready to break free from their demons, toxic relationships or situations. There comes a point where you will go to any length to get better.””
Adema’s new album has yet to get a release date. In the meantime, the band is gearing up for a tour with Flaw that kicks off Wednesday (Sept. 1) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Find tour dates for the trek, called the “Noise Ordinance Tour, below.
