Record Store Day Black Friday 2021 Releases: Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, U2 and More
Record Store Day’s Black Friday event will feature releases on vinyl, cassette and CD from a bevy of rock and metal acts
Halloween is over, and the Christmas season is on the way. Record Store Day is gearing up for another holiday, as the folks behind the annual event have released their list of vinyl and music exclusives that will be available this year. Record Store Day Black Friday will take place on Nov. 26, offering releases from Iron Maiden, Foo Fighters, Dio, Crobot, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Ozzy Osbourne and more.
Initially, Record Store Day was a one-time, annual event taking place in April of each year. After the success of the event, organizers launched a second Black Friday promotion, featuring items purpose-made for the holiday shopping season.
The 2021 edition of Black Friday will offer a bevy of vinyl, cassette and CD options from a variety of rock and metal acts, as well as artists across the musical spectrum. The list features famed recordings being reissued on vinyl, as well as some collectible pieces, such as picture discs, and merch goodies.
As for some highlights, Iron Maiden is releasing a 12-inch limited edition picture disc release celebrating the 40th anniversary of the band’s debut album. Another metal artist, Ozzy Osbourne, is reissuing his 1991 solo record, “No More Tears,” as a 12-inch picture disc. The album, which features the classic “Mama, I’m Coming Home,” and it one of Ozzy’s most celebrated albums, turns 30 this year.
U2 will issue a four-song EP in honor of the 40th anniversary of the band’s early single, “Gloria.” The release, which arrive on yellow vinyl, offers the studio version of the track, as well as three live versions recorded in three different decades.
Additional Black Friday will arrive from Alice Cooper, Janis Joplin, David Crosby & Graham Nash, The Kinks’ Dave Davies, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, Motorhead, Night Ranger, Poison, Lou Reed, Bush’s Gavin Rossdale, Heart’s Nancy Wilson, Todd Rundgren, Stray Cats, Joe Strummer, Tesla and more.
