2022 Grammy Award Winners in Rock and Metal: Foo Fighters, Dream Theater and More
Foo Fighters were among the big winners at the 2022 Grammy Awards, but it was bittersweet, as the band recently lost drummer Taylor Hawkins
The 2022 Grammy Awards take place Sunday (April 3), and they’re being televised live on CBS. While the “main” awards get handed out during the televised program, many other awards are given out earlier in the day.
For years, the rock and metal awards have been given out before the televised ceremony, and that’s the case this year. Read on for the full list of rock, metal and alternative artists who took home trophies early in the day. You’ll also find the handful of rock acts who took home awards during the televised ceremony.
Foo Fighters were big winners at the event, taking home the Grammy for Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song and Best Rock Album. It was bittersweet, as the band recently lost their original drummer, Taylor Hawkins, so were not present at the event. The Grammys played a special video tribute to Taylor, in place of their performance.
