Local H Prepping for ‘Here Comes the Zoo’ 20th Anniversary Tour
Local H are celebrating the 20th anniversary of “Here Comes to Zoo” with a tour
Local H are honoring the 20th anniversary of their seminal album “Here Comes the Zoo” with a fall 2022 North American tour. The lengthy trek starts Sept. 11 in Omaha, Nebraska, and runs through a Dec. 13 gig in Toronto. Tickets for most shows are on sale now via Ticketmaster.
“Here Comes the Zoo” arrived in March 2002 and was Local H’s fourth studio album. It was also their follow-up to 1996’s “As Good as Dead” and 1998’s “Pack Up the Cats,” the former of which featured the alternative rock radio staple “Bound for the Floor.”
While many associate Local H with 1990s grunge, band members say this album marks a new horizon for Local H. It’s a modern, different sound for the band that will hopefully appeal to new fans. “In a lot of ways, this was the toughest record we ever had to make,” singer-guitarist Scott Lucas sstated in a press release. “We were at a real turning and it wasn’t just a record that would determine the future of the band — it was the record that would determine whether or not Local H was going to even have a future.”
He added, “We had just worked with Roy Thomas Baker on Pack Up the Cats — so getting another producing legend was not in the plan. Then we found out Jack Douglas was interested. So what could we do? He’s the man. We had no choice but to go with him.”
