Workday has a star-studded new “Rock Star” Super Bowl commercial that aired during the Big Game, and Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol, Paul Stanley, Joan Jett, and Gary Clark Jr. all make appearances in it. Of course, it’s 2023, so we don’t have to wait until the Super Bowl to check out this commercial.

“Rock stars have worked hard to earn their titles,” the ad’s YouTube description reads. “So when the business world starts calling execs ‘rock stars’ for crushing it with Workday, the legends have something to say.”

The ad begins at a high-octane KISS concert with Paul Stanley turning to the camera to talk about “corporate types” who like to call themselves so-called “rock stars.” Then, a handful of real rock stars discuss the meaning behind the term, “real rock star.”

Billy Idol states, “I’ve trashed hotel rooms in 43 countries.” That’s not something we would recommend doing, but it does quality as rock star behavior. “I’ve been on the road since I was 16,” says Joan Jett as she jumps off her tour bus. Ozzy chimes in, “I’ve done my share of bad things. Also, your share of bad things.” Boy, is that true.

What’s extra funny is that Ozzy appears in the commercial wearing full office space clothing, sitting in a cubicle. It’s hilarious to see Ozzy appearing like a normal worker, rocking it nine to five. There are also shorter teaser clips of each rock star in the office.

It’s a tongue-and-cheek commercial that definitely garnered some laughs during the Super Bowl. Watch the full, one-minute commercial below, as well as the collection of individual clips. Expect to see these clips circulating well after the Big Game, to boot.
