Guns N’ Roses’ Slash Kicks Off New Horror Production Company
Slash of Guns N’ Roses is getting more involved with the horror movie business
It’s no secret that Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash is a huge fan of all things horror. Now, Slash has launched a new horror production company called BerserkerGang with some heavyweights in the industry.
Per Variety, the guitarist has launched a new venture with Raven Banner executives Michael Paszt, James Fler and Andrew T. Hunt; Rue Morgue magazine founder and filmmaker Rodrigo Gudiño; and Hangar 18 Media producer Pasha Patriki. The new company will produce horror films.
“I’ve always been a huge horror fan, especially going back to the days when horror movies actually scared the hell out of you,” Slash said of the new, scary venture. “I want to get into the heart of the producing business so I can try and make movies that I’d like to see.”
This isn’t Slash’s first time dealing with horror film production. He recently worked with Raven Banner and Gudiño on the movie “The Breach.” The film, produced by Hangar 18, debuted at Canada’s Fantasia Film Festival last year and will have a commercial release later this year. “The Breach” project is actually what kickstarted the idea for BerserkerGang. Exact details of the first BerserkerGang project are expected to be announced at the Cannes film festival in May.
“The company slogan is ‘Films Forged in Fury,’ if that’s any indication of where we plan on venturing,” Gudiño of BerserkerGang said.
Slash also previously had a horror film production company under the name Slasher Films. There’s no word on whether that project will still be around, but it hasn’t been active in several years.
In other news, Slash’s main gig is going strong. Guns N’ Roses recently announced a 2023 world tour that includes a late summer and early fall North American leg.
