Linkin Park Release Another ‘Meteora’-Era Song, ‘Fighting Myself’
Listen to “Fighting Myself,” a previously unreleased song from Linkin Park’s “Meteora” sessions
Linkin Park’s celebrated sophomore album, 2003’s “Meteora,” turns 20 on Saturday (March 25). It’s a huge landmark, and sadly, it’s another reminder that we lost Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennginton way too soon. Now, the group is getting ready to release a special 20th anniversary deluxe reissue of the seminal record.
Ahead of the album, Linkin Park have debuted a second previously unreleased track from the “Meteora” sessions, “Fighting Myself.” The songs follows “Lost,” which arrived in February and is currently No. 1 on the rock and alternative radio charts.
“Fighting Myself” features multi-instrumentalist Mike Shinoda rapping throughout the verses and Bennington adding his melodic vocals to the chorus, singing “Fighting myself, I always lose.” Listen to the song and watch the official visualizer below.
Regarding the previously released single, “Lost,” Shinoda said of the song, “Finding this track was like finding a favorite photo you had forgotten you’d taken, like it was waiting for the right moment to reveal itself. For years, fans have been asking us to release something with Chester’s voice, and I’m thrilled we’ve been able to make that happen in such a special way.” He added regarding the upcoming singles, “I think they’re going to be floored when they hear and see all the incredible unreleased songs and video footage in ‘METEORA|20.'”
Linkin Park will release the 20th anniversary reissue of “Meteora” on April 7 in a variety of formats, including a limited-edition super deluxe box set, a vinyl box set, a deluxe 3-CD version and as a digital download. To pre-order the set in any format, go to Linkin Park’s webstore. Listen to Linkin Park, “Fighting Myself,” below.
