Def Leppard and Journey Announce 2024 Co-Headlining Tour
It’s a match made in ’80s rock heaven, as Def Leppard and Journey are joining forces a co-headlining North American tour. I’ve seen Def Leppard several times over the past few years, and let me tell you, they still have it. I’m constantly blown away by their high-octane performances. I never saw the band in the ’80s, but boy, can they deliver now. I’ve also seen Journey live, and they’re fantastic, as well. These two bands are really a good fit, as they both come from the school of big, arena rock of the 1980s, but they’re not “hair metal,” so to speak.
The Def Leppard and Journey tour will run through the summer of 2024 and feature select support from Steve Miller Band, Heart and Cheap Trick. This marks Def Leppard’s first big tour since their co-headlining run with Motley Crue. The trek will see the guys on the road for 23 dates, beginning July 6 in St. Louis and running through a Sept. 8 show in Denver. What’s more, the guys will mainly perform at Major League Baseball stadiums. As for those openers, Cheap Trick will appear at four shows; Heart will support three stops; and the Steve Miller Band will open for the majority of the dates, at 16.
As for tickets, a Ticketmaster pre-sale starts begins Thursday (Dec. 14) at 10 a.m. local time using the code CREW. Then, the general on-sale begins on Dec. 15 via Ticketmaster.
“Def Leppard and Journey will be reuniting and hitting the road together for the Summer Stadium Tour with Steve Miller, Cheap Trick & Heart on select shows, which makes for an amazing night of music!” Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott said in a statement. “Having just completed a sensational 18-month run promoting our Diamond Star Halos album, we shall hit the boards running with a brand-new stage show and set of songs that will celebrate specific parts of our history. We may even have a surprise or two up our sleeves … so, wanna join us!??! … See you in the summer!”
Journey added in a collective statement, “We are thrilled to be back on the road in 2024 with so many good friends as part of this tour. No matter which city you come to this will be an amazing night of music!”
