Aerosmith Farewell Tour: Classic Band Announces Final Run
The end is here, again, for Aerosmith. Following a plethora of cancelation and re-bookings, the classic band has released the dates for their rescheduled North American Aerosmith farewell tour. The trek is set for September 2024 through February 2025. The tour will feature support from The Black Crowes, who were also part of Aerosmith’s original tour roster.
Aerosmith Farewell Tour
The original Aerosmith farewell tour set off in Sept. 2023 but only ran for three shows, due to vocalist Steven Tyler having a major vocal injury. Following that news, the band was forced to postpone the remaining dates until further notice.
Fans have been waiting for months now for rescheduled tour dates. Finally, those dates are here. The band has announced that the rescheduled Aerosmith farewell tour will kick off Sept. 20 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and go through a Feb. 26 date in Buffalo, New York. They also have some special shows lined up, including Los Angeles on Dec. 7; Boston, their hometown, for a New Year’s Eve gig on Dec. 31; and New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden on Feb. 23.
Any previously purchased tickets will be honored at the rescheduled shows. Tickets for the new dates will go on sale Friday (April 12) at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.
If this lineup for tour is the same as the lineup Aerosmith were planning to tour with on their original farewell run, it will include original members Tyler, guitarists Joe Perry and Brad Whitford and bassist Tom Hamilton. The trek will also feature drummer John Douglas, who has been filling in for Joey Kramer, and keyboard player Buck Johnson.
Aerosmith, obviously, are touring to say farewell to their fans. The Black Crowes, however, have a new album they’re promoting on the road. The Black Crowes released “Happiness Bastards,” their first new album in 15 years, last year. They’ll be on most of the Aerosmith tour dates, minus the first gig in Pittsburgh, which will feature Teddy Swims instead.
Find the full roster of Aerosmith farewell tour dates below. You can find more information on Aerosmith’s website. I do think Aerosmith, unlike many classic bands, mean it when they say this is their final run.
