AC/DC made headlines when they reunited with longtime vocalist Brian Johnson for a massive 2024 comeback tour. Johnson, of course, had to sit out of the band’s last pre-pandemic tour, the Rock or Bust tour, due to hearing issues, and Axl Rose from Guns N’ Roses stepped in. Now, Johnson and the crew have played countless shows together in 2024, and they’re ready to rest. Hopefully they won rest too long, though, because there’s still quite a bit demand to see the band live all over the world.

AC/DC wrapped up their 2024 comeback tour in a major way. The longstanding Australian rock band performed at a concert with more than 82,000 people in attendance at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland.

For this tour, the band included Johnson, lead guitarist Angus Young, rhythm guitarist Stevie Young and new touring members Chris Chaney on bass and Matt Laug on drums in leu of Cliff Williams and Phil Rudd, respectively.

The rockers performed 21-song setlist, starting with “If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It)” and the famed “Back in Black.” For the rest of the night, the crowd was treated to a bunch of other great hits, including “Thunderstruck,” “Hell’s Bells,” “High way to Hell,” “Dirty Deeds Done Dirty Cheap” and “You Shook Me All Night Long.”

It wasn’t just the classics, either. The performance also featured songs off the band’s latest album, 2020’s “Power Up,” such as “Demon Fire” and “Shot in the Dark.” They also pulled out some lesser-played AC/DC tracks, such as “Stiff Upper Lip” and “Shot Down in the Flames.”

The guys closed out the incredible show with an encore of “T.N.T.” and “For Those About to Rock (We Salute You).”

AC/DC made their big return with Johnson on vocals in late 2023 with a performance at the Power Trip festival in California. They announced a U.K. and European tour after the performance. So, will the guys do a North American tour with Johnson? No word on that yet, but the band is very popular in the States, so I’d be surprised to see them miss performing in the U.S. Plus, Johnson seemed to remain very healthy on the road with AC/DC in the U.K. and Europe, so that’s a good sign that he might be up to a U.S. run. I’ve only seen AC/DC with Rose on vocals, and while Rose performed very well, I didn’t feel like I got the real AC/DC experience.

AC/DC’s “Power Up” album was ranked one of the best of 2020, the year it was released, by Audio Ink Radio. “From start to finish, it’s apparent just how much AC/DC stuck to their traditional, straight-ahead rock roots on ‘Power Up,’ which is a good thing,” we wrote in the review. “After all, your roots are always your roots. ‘Power Up’ lives up to the hype, delivering the album AC/DC fans have been hoping to hear since 2014’s ‘Rock or Bust.'”
