Motley Crue Breaks Silence About Singer’s Plane Crashing

On Monday, February 10, news broke that an airplane owned by Motley Crue vocalist Vince Neil was involved in a tragic and fatal accident in Arizona. According to authorities and experts involved and on the scene, a Learjet 35A veering off the runway and crashing into a Gulfstream 200 business jet on the ramp at Scottsdale Municipal Airport.
One person was killed in the crash, and in addition to the fatality, one person was trapped inside one of the planes for a period of time. Also, three other passengers taken to local Scottsdale hospitals with injuries.
Motley Crue Vocalist Vince Neil’s Plane Crash
In a message to TMZ on February 10, Motley Crue manager Allen Kovac told TMZ that Neil was not on the flight. However, Neil’s girlfriend, Rain, was on the plane and has five broken ribs as a result of the accident. Rain’s friend, Ashley, was also on the plane and was hospitalized. The friends were traveling with a couple of dogs, both of whom survived the crash. No details have been released regarding the identity of the deceased person on the plane.
Kovac also told TMZ that Neil’s “heart goes out to the victims families involved and he’s thankful his girlfriend and her friend are safe.” He also said that Motley Crue are “brainstorming ideas to help the victims’ families.”
Neil’s representative Worrick Robinson has also shared a statement, on behalf of the band, about the tragic events. He took to the band’s Instagram to share the sad news that, “At 2:39 p.m. local time, a Learjet aircraft Model 35A owned by Vince Neil was attempting to land at the Scottsdale Airport.”
He added, “For reasons unknown at this time, the plane veered from the runway causing it to collide with another parked plane. On board Mr. Neil’s plane were two pilots and two passengers. Mr. Neil was not on the plane.”
The statement concluded, “More specific details regarding the collision are not available as this is a rapidly evolving situation and there is an ongoing investigation.” He added that the singer’s “thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all first responders assisting today.”
Scottsdale’s Mayor Discusses Accident
Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky has also opened up about the incident. She stated, “Today, Scottsdale sadly experienced an aircraft accident at our airport. Based on the information provided thus far, it appears at least one person is dead after two jets collided on the runway at Scottsdale Airport.”
According to local station Newschannel 5 (WTVF), Chromed In Hollywood owns the Learjet 35A. It’s a company based in Franklin, Tennessee, and is registered in Wyoming. Vince Neil is listed as a principal agent for the Learjet.
The FAA has released a statement, too, saying, “A Learjet 35A veered off the runway after landing and crashed into a Gulfstream 200 business jet on the ramp at Scottsdale Municipal Airport in Arizona around 2:45 p.m. local time Monday, Feb. 10.”
