Alice Cooper Guitarist Nita Strauss Turns Heads in New Video

There’s no denying that Alice Cooper guitarist Nita Strauss is one of the most talented guitarists of her era, whether she’s performing with the Coop or out on the road with her own solo music.
It never gets old to see Strauss do her thing, especially in front of a massive audience. Now, the famed guitarist has released a clip from one of her recent performances, and in it, she shows off her incredible chops and one of her new guitars.
Nita Strauss Shows Off ‘Black Widow’ Guitar
On March 23, Strauss took to social media to share a video of her shredding live with Alice Cooper’s band. In it, she’s performing on a bright red guitar, which she calls “deadly.”
“And here, my prize, the Black Widow. Isn’t she lovely? And so deadly…” she says in the caption of the post with a spider emoji.
Followers took to social media to praise Strauss for her playing, with one stating, “We were right in front of you most of the night, proudly sporting our Nita Strauss shirt. That show was,” adding a fire emoji, to say that the show was fire. Others simply gushed over the beauty of the red guitar.
Strauss is certainly keeping busy in 2025, seeing that Cooper has shows booked from early May to the end of August, playing all the hits. She’s also often busy with her solo material, so her schedule is jam-packed.
She’s obviously a pioneer, and in 2018, Strauss became the very first female to become a signature artist with Ibanez guitars. Her signature guitar, the Ibanez JIVA, debuted in stores in the summer of 2018, and with it, she also launched a signature set of DiMarzio Pandemonium pickups.
“Nita is one of the most sought after clinicians in the industry today and has done extensive clinic tours across multiple continents,” Ibanez states on their official website. “Her consistent touring schedule has led her to play hundreds of shows a year, in front of over a million audience members every year.”
Nita Strauss on Women in Heavy Metal
Strauss spoke with Audio Ink Radio back in 2019 about her experience being a woman in heavy metal. In the chat, she said that it’s been a “great experience,” but she would “be lying if I said it’s all roses and perfect, but the metal community is so incredibly supportive, and I would say the main thing I faced as a female in this industry is being underestimated. But being underestimated isn’t always a bad thing.”
She added that “it’s nice to get out there and blow people’s minds when they think you aren’t going to be any good.” At this point, we’re thinking pretty much everyone knows that when they see Strauss live, they’re going to get an incredible show, but perhaps there are still a few out there who don’t get it.
“So, it’s been a good experience and really fun overall,” she added, “and I wouldn’t say I have any super negative stories about guys in the industry. I think men in this industry want to see women succeed.”
