Japanese pop-metal sensations Babymetal are back with their new album, “METAL FORTH,” which arrives on June 13. The group just announced the new album last week, and now, they’ve already unleashed a new single from the set, and it features a big name.

Babymetal team up with metal and experimental singer Poppy for the new song, “from me to u (feat. Poppy),” a cutting, post-hardcore and heavy metal track that’s made to crank loud and proud.

Babymetal x Poppy

Of the collaboration, Poppy, a Grammy nominee, says, “I have been a fan of Babymetal for years and I am so happy for this song to finally be here. They have inspired me so much, enjoy ‘from me to u.'”

Babymetal adds, “A kawaii metal song was born from a collaboration between Babymetal and Poppy. Check out Poppy’s shouts and Babymetal’s dance in the Neo Tokyo setting. Kawaii is sprinkled throughout the intense sound! Kimi ni todoke.

In addition to the new song, the group has released a music video featuring high-end visuals paired with Babymetal’s trademark choreography “with a futuristic world teetering on the edge of destruction,” as a release describes. “The video builds toward a surreal climax as Poppy, who joins the trio in this chaotic vision, undergoes a dramatic transformation—emerging as a dragon amid the wreckage.” The new single, “from me to u (feat. Poppy),” is streaming everywhere now.

Big Collaborations on Babymetal’s New Album

Babymetal’s new album features a bevy of high-profile collaborations, not just Poppy, including Tom Morello, Bloodywood, Polyphia, Spiritbox and Slaughter to Prevail. These are “artists that Babymetal has connected with over the years while touring the globe,” a release explains.

Of course, Babymetal is anything but a rookie band. The group celebrated their 15th anniversary this year and, on their annual “FOX DAY,” which is April 1, the group released “LEGEND MAP,” as well as the album and tour plans. It’s a sure thing that 2025 will be a big year for BABYMETAL.

Starting May 10, the group will hit the road on their inaugural headline arena tour of the U.K. and Europe, playing 12 shows across eight countries, with openers Poppy and Bambie Thug. It’s wild to think that Babymetal have been around for 15 years, yet this is their first proper tour of the U.K. and Europe.

The final date of the tour is set for the legendary O2 Arena in London. Babymetal is actually the first Japanese group to headline a show at this famed venue.

Then, Babymetal will come to the U.S. The group will begin its largest North American tour yet in Houston, Texas, on June 13, the same day their album arrives, with openers Black Veil Brides, Jinjer and Bloodywood on select dates. The band’s North American tour will feature 24 dates in major cities, such as New York City, Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago and more and run through a July 23 show in Phoenix.

The group is also keeping busy with a tour of Japan and Asia in 2025. tour. So, it’s safe to say that Babymetal is taking over the world in 2025, or at least playing the world.
