One of the biggest concerts in metal music, if not the biggest, of the year will take place on June 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham, England. That’s when Black Sabbath will play their final concert ever, welcoming in a superstar lineup of rock and metal acts, including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, Anthrax and Mastodon, to name a few.
Of course, most Black Sabbath fans won’t get to actually attend this show. For one, the show sold out within just a few minutes, but even if it hadn’t sold out, there’s no way the majority of Black Sabbath fans could have made the trip out to England to see this performance. But, it makes sense that Black Sabbath would have their final show in England, because that’s their home turf.
So, with Black Sabbath’s final show being out of reach for most fans, what’s a metalhead to do? Thankfully, Ozzy Osbourne and company are here to help.
How to Stream Black Sabbath’s Final Concert
The “Back to the Beginning” concert, which will feature the final performances from Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne, will stream worldwide, so fans will be able to catch the action from the comfort of their homes. As for how to stream Black Sabbath’s final show, for $29.99, viewers will get access to the livestream, and for $64.98, they’ll be able to get the livestream ticket with a collectible T-shirt. Both options are available on the concert’s website.
The main negative is that the livestream will be delayed two hours from the actual start time of the show in the arena. It will start at 10 a.m. ET, or 7 a.m. PT, on July 5. But, the show will also be available to watch replay for 48 hours after the show is available to stream. So, if fans don’t want to get up that early to check out the action, they can watch it at their convenience.
Of course, the livestream will feature not only Black Sabbath and Ozzy’s much-anticipated performances. The show will also feature performances from the bands named above, as well as a range of other rock and metal artists, such as Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), members of Soundgarden, Billy Corgan (The Smashing Pumpkins), Sammy Hagar, David Draiman (Disturbed), Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit), Jake E. Lee (ex-Ozzy guitarist), KK Downing (former Judas Priest guitarist), Mike Bordin (Faith No More), Sleep Token II (Sleep Token), Papa V Perpetua (Ghost), Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine) and Zakk Wylde. It’s great that Wylde will be there, because he’s one of Ozzy’s main solo guitarists and needs to be part of this event.
Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath
Ozzy is expected to perform solo and with Black Sabbath. He’s been training leading up to the big show and is still struggling with health issues.
Speaking with the Guardian’s Alexis Petridis in an interview published Friday, May 2, along with his Black Sabbath bandmates, Osbourne said regarding the upcoming show, “I’ll be there, and I’ll do the best I can. So all I can do is turn up.”
In April, Osbourne made an appearance on SiriusXM’s Ozzy Speaks on the Ozzy’s Boneyard channel and talked about a training regimen he is doing to get him ready to play his final show at the Back to the Beginning festival. “It is endurance training,” Osbourne said.
