The gents of Alter Bridge are back and gearing up to release a new album, a self-titled release, on January 9, 2026. The band has been together for more than 20 years, but they’re showing that they’re stronger than ever, rolling out major tour plans and exciting their followers with bits of new music from the album ahead of its release.
Alter Bridge brings together vocalist Myles Kennedy, guitarist Mark Tremonti bass player Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips, and together, they’ve built a following that loves not only their music but who they are as people. The group will release their self-titled, eighth studio album on Napalm Records, and ahead of its release, on Wednesday, September 3, the group unveiled another new song off the set, “Silent Divide.”
Alter Bridge’s New, Self-Titled Album
Alter Bridge’s new album will feature 12 all new songs, and the band promises that these will “fit alongside any of the classic songs from Alter Bridge’s catalog, so expect the sound that they’ve been serving up for years. What’s cool about this set is that some of the songs feature Kennedy and Termonti sharing vocal duties, so while Kennedy certainly still fronts Alter Bridge, they’re showing off the singing chops that Tremonti has developed fronting his own band. The group worked with longtime collaborator and producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette on their eighth album and recorded the set over two months this past spring in the legendary 5150 studio in California and Elvis’ recording studio in Florida.
Alter Bridge’s first major U.S. tour in support of the album is set for late April and May of 2026. The band will see support from Filter, Sevendust and Tim Montana on select shows.
The tour will set off on April 25 in Orlando, Florida and take the band through the U.S. before coming to an end on May 24 in Tampa, Florida. All dates, cities and venues, as well as information on opening acts for each stop, are available via the Alter Bridge website.
Inside the New Alter Bridge Song, ‘Silent Divide’
As for the new song, “Silent Divide,” it’s one of the heavier ones from Alter Bridge, and it sees them flexing their musical muscles with big riffs, chugging rhythms and powerful vocals. The song opens will heavy guitar riffs from Tremonti, followed by Kennedy delivering a story and warning to not give into the divisiveness of today.
“Stop before it starts / Step aside don’t play the part / Keep your head down, ride out / The Silent Divide,” Kennedy sings on the song.
Even though Tremonti is often considered one of the greatest guitarist of his generation, he’s always learning. He told Audio Ink Radio in a 2023 interview, “My resolution this year was to learn something every day on the guitar. There’s plenty to learn. I’m juggling so many things, I want to make sure I stay focused on the guitar and that will keep me on top of things.”
It’s great to see Alter Bridge continuing to show what they can do musically and release fresh, unique music.
