American metalcore and alternative metal outfit Bad Omens delivered a charged performance at the Louder Than Life festival last night, September 20, at the Highland Festival Grounds, unveiling two tracks live for the first time: “Specter” and “Impose.” The performances mark a significant moment as the band continues to build momentum ahead of what is expected to be their fourth studio album. It goes without saying, of course, that everyone is super excited about that upcoming release.

Bad Omens treated the audience to a full hour of material, cramming in 16 songs that spanned their discography, from deep cuts and fan favorites, to these new offerings.

Bad Omen Setlist highlights (per Setlist.fm):

1. “Concrete Jungle”
2. “Artificial Suicide”
3. “V.A.N.”
4. “The Drain”
5. “Anything > Human”
6. “Specter” (Live debut)
7. “What It Cost”
8. “Like a Villain”
9. “Impose” (Live debut)
10. “Take Me First”

12. “Nowhere to Go”
13. “Limits”
14. “The Death of Peace of Mind”
15. “Just Pretend”

The reception was enthusiastic. When “Specter” and “Impose” were played, fans cheered and sang along, giving the latest singles a warm homecoming in tandem with the older hits.

The New Songs from Bad Omens

“Specter” was released in August 2025, and this track was Bad Omens’ first non?collaborative single in several years. Its cinematic video, co?directed by frontman Noah Sebastian and a collaborator named Nico, features actor Ryan Hurst in a dramatic visual interpretation.

“Impose” also released earlier this month, “Impose” has been described as a more subdued, tension?driven song compared to some of Bad Omens’ heavier fare.

Both tracks are expected to feature on their upcoming, currently untitled fourth studio album. As of now, no official details have been shared regarding its release date or full track listing.

Formed in 2015, Bad Omens consists of Noah Sebastian (vocals), Joakim Karlsson (guitar), Nick Folio (drums), and Vinny Muccino (bass).

Bad Omens are scheduled for several more shows to close out 2025. Among them, the band will appear at Aftershock in Sacramento, California on October 4, before heading to Europe for multiple performances. Those shows will likely further preview more new music and serve as platforms for the band to refine their live set.

Louder Than Life is one of the U.S.’s premier rock and metal festivals, and Louisville has been a long?standing hub for fans of heavy music. Playing at such a festival gives bands both exposure and an opportunity to make bold statements.

It was so fun for fans and newcomers to see the live debuts of “Specter” and “Impose,” and that’s definitely a sign that Bad Omens is gearing up for something substantial. We totally can’t wait, and chances are, news will be coming soon on the new album. Perhaps we can hope for an early 2026 release.
