Korn’s genre-bending album “See You on the Other Side” is turning 20, which is wild. In honor, Tempo Music announced Tuesday, September 23, that it will release a limited-edition deluxe 2xLP vinyl package, offering fans a fresh way to experience the band’s landmark seventh studio album later this year.

“See You on the Other Side” dropped in December 2005 and marked a turning point for Korn, showcasing a darker, more experimental sound that would go on to influence a generation of rock and metal artists. Who can forget hits like “Twisted Transistor” and “Coming Undone?” The album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America in 2006.

To commemorate the milestone, Tempo will release the anniversary vinyl in four variants, including exclusive color editions for Korn’s official webstore, Hot Topic and independent record stores.

In addition to the original track list, the anniversary edition will include the bonus track “Last Legal Drug,” which was previously only available on the deluxe CD version of the album. The song will also be released digitally for the first time as part of a newly remastered digital deluxe album, arriving on streaming platforms November 21, just a few weeks before its real anniversary, which is December 6.

“Tempo takes great responsibility and honor in partnering with artists to provide fans engaging ways to consume these iconic catalogs,” the company said in a statement. “We’re excited to celebrate this milestone with Korn by officially bringing this seminal album to vinyl and ‘Last Legal Drug’ to streaming platforms so fans old and new can enjoy the band’s incredible work.”

A New Chapter in Korn’s Legacy

“See You on the Other Side” was the band’s first album recorded after the departure of founding guitarist Brian “Head” Welch and marked a sonic shift for the Bakersfield, California, band. Welch, of course, is back with the band now.

So, even though “See You on the Other Side” may not be as popular as some of Korn’s other releases, it was absolutely a huge moment for the band.

Korn’s Lasting Influence Through the Years

Korn has been super influential in music. Since getting together in the early 1990s, Korn has sold more than 43 million albums worldwide, won two Grammy Awards and helped define what is the nu-metal genre.

The band’s 1994 self-titled debut album is widely credited with launching a new era of heavy music, blending down-tuned guitars, hip-hop-inspired rhythms and deeply personal lyrics.

The anniversary release is a perfect time to get in on the vinyl fun. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, vinyl outsold CDs for the first time in decades in recent years, with collectors and casual listeners alike turning to the format for its tactile experience and audio fidelity.

Pre-orders for the vinyl edition are now live through Korn’s official store, Hot Topic and participating independent record shops. The digital deluxe album will be available to stream starting Nov. 21, ahead of the official anniversary date.

As Korn prepares to celebrate two decades of one of their most transformative records, fans can once again say: “See you on the other side.” Cheesy, I know, but it rings true for this legendary rock and metal band that really put nu-metal on the map.
