Motley Crue has a bevy of Las Vegas residency dates set for this fall, and they couldn’t be more excited about it. The shows were originally scheduled for March and April of this year but were moved to September and October to allow singer Vince Neil to recover from an undisclosed medical procedure. The band’s new concerts are schedule for September 12, 13, 17, 19, 20, 24, 26, 27 and October 1 and 3.

After that, what will become of Motley Crue? According to bass player Nikki Sixx, he’s planning on using the time to work on other projects, and he’s excited for it. In a lengthy post on X, Sixx talked about future endeavors and said that he’s looking forward to time that doesn’t involve being in a rock band.

Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx is Excited for His ‘Future Not Involving Being in a Band’

“Looking forward to these ten shows with Motley but also extremely excited about all the other projects I have planned for the future not involving being in a band,” he stated on social media on Sunday, September 7. “Love playing the songs and honestly most of them are very personal to me but being on the road is not for me for too much longer. I have a six-year-old girl to raise and five wonderful older kids and a granddaughter to spend time with.”

Just because he’s excited for a future that isn’t being in a band, that doesn’t mean he’s leaving music. It’s quite the opposite.

“The good news is all these new projects ALL involve music,” Sixx added in the social media post. “Music will always be my life but the road is old. Being a rockstar is overrated. Being a creative is where it’s at. THE future IS EXCITing AND the PAST WAS A BLAST.”

At least one of those projects involves TV and animation. “These last few years I’ve been developing a lot of TV programming and animation (family entertainment),” he said in a social media post in June of this year. “We have some amazing partners involved on multiple levels .This is just another extension for my creativity and most everything will have original music too. Really exciting watching it all come together.”

Nikki Sixx Says Motley Crue is Like Family

Speaking with Audio Ink Radio in an interview back in 2021, Sixx talked about how the Crue is like a family.

“You know, probably very true. (It’s) very painful for me when the band has been on the verge of breaking up, because the band is- I threw my life into this band,” he said in the interview. “I threw my life as a lyricist into this band and exposed things about myself or things that I saw in this band. I’m so lucky that I met Tommy and Vince and Mick, and they’ve changed my life, and I’ve hopefully helped changed their life. We really, maybe, changed a lot of other people’s lives, even on an entertainment level. So, yeah, the idea of Motley Crue not being in my life feels very strange.”
