The Black Keys offer preview of their newest music video

The Black Keys have soul, heart and the spirit to make blues-rock hip and cool to even the stingiest modern rock fan. The Akron, Ohio-based guitar-and-drum duo of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney are dusting off their gear and getting ready to head out on a 2012 arena tour in support of their latest album, “El Camino.” The tour starts March 2 in Cincinnati and runs through Boston, New York City, Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia and several other major cities before dying down March 23 in Norfolk, Va.

“Lonely Boy,” the first single off “El Camino,” shot to the top of the alternative rock chart in a jiffy and helped score the guys a bunch of honors: a No. 2 Billboard album, the Jan. 2012 cover of Rolling Stone magazine and a high-profile spot on “Saturday Night Live” last year, to name a few. That’s not to mention a headlining spot on California’s esteemed Coachella Music and Arts Festival. The Black Keys are certainly the guys of the moment!

Now, the Black Keys are riding that wave of success and releasing the follow-up single off “El Camino,” titled, “Gold on the Ceiling.” The full-length video for the catchy track debuts Monday, Feb. 6, at 7:56 EST on MTV, with a special 30-minute interview with Auerbach and Carney following the premiere running on MTV.com. But before then, put on your alternative rock caps and watch a sneak preview of the video, courtesy of MTV, below. What do you think? Is the music video pure blues-rock bliss, or were you hoping for something more? (Courtesy photo: Danny Clinch via Nonesuch Records.)
