P.O.D. Finish Recording New Album with Howard Benson

P.O.D. to hit the road with RED, Love and Death and Icon for Hire this spring

Christian hard rock / reggae rock favorites P.O.D. (Payable on Death) have official wrapped up recording their upcoming studio album, which is slated to arrive this summer via Razor & Tie. Producer Howard Benson (Seether, Daughtry, Creed) recorded the album. Benson, of course, produced the band’s blockbuster 2001 release, “Satellite,” which spawned the rock radio hits “Alive,” “Boom” and “Youth of the Nation.”

P.O.D. vocalist Sonny Sandoval chatted with Audio Ink Radio last year about why Benson is such a perfect fit with the band. “We came up with Howard, so he knows how we work. We got a hold of him before he became this big-time, superstar rock producer, so we have that old-school relationship where we can be honest,” he explained. “He knows when not to stick his nose into stuff, and that’s what’s cool about our relationship. He lets us do what we want to do. Working with us, he believes in us and he gives us a lot of freedom to just be us without trying to make that one rock single or that radio hit. He just lets us do our thing, so it’s cool. We have a really cool relationship with Howard, and I know he’s really excited about this record.”

Fans itching to see P.O.D. live are in luck, as the band are hitting the road this spring and summer to play a slew of festivals and club gigs. That includes a co-headlining tour with RED, also featuring Love and Death (with former Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch) and Icon for Hire set for this spring.
