Corey Taylor Says New Stone Sour Song, ‘Taciturn,’ is About Trust
Stone Sour frontman explains the meaning behind new song, ‘Taciturn’
Corey Taylor is gearing up to release Stone Sour’s massive new dual album, “House of Gold and Bones,” and the first part of the album set will arrive this fall. Taylor recently previewed a new track off the release, “Taciturn,” during an acoustic set in Europe, and speaking with ARTISTDirect.com, Taylor explained that the subject matter of the track is simply about trust.
“It’s about trying to find the courage to open up to the people you care about, love and value, knowing that they’re going to be there to catch you when it all comes down,” Taylor said. “They’re going to be there for you when nobody else is. It’s about letting go of the anchors that hold you down in life, opening yourself up and saying, ‘If you’re there for me, I’ll be there for you. You’ve just got to give me a second.’”
Right now, Taylor is closing out the main stage of the 2012 Rockstar Mayhem Festival with his other band, Slipknot. This year’s Mayhem lineup includes a slew of metal bands, both young bands and statesmen, including As I Lay Dying, the Devil Wears Prada, Anthrax, Slayer, I the Breather, Asking Alexandria, Betraying the Martyrs, Whitechapel and more.
