Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl Posts Sound City Trailer Featuring Trent Reznor, Butch Vig
Sound City Studios documentary will feature interviews with rock’s biggest names
Alternative rock and grunge fans of the ‘90s will be stoked to hear that Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has posted a sample online of his upcoming documentary about Sound City Studios, the legendary studios where he and Nirvana taped the group’s 1991 fundamental album, “Nevermind,” and, in essence, brought grunge to the forefront.
The 52-second preview clip offers interview recordings of Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, Butch Vig, Tom Petty, Mick Fleetwood and John Fogerty speaking about their experiences laying down tape at the famed studio and working with its renowned analog recording console, the Neve 8028.
“There’s just something about the Neve sound that my ear’s always been attuned to,” Reznor says in the teaser. “The Neve has incredible character, probably too much character,” added Vig.
The upcoming documentary is also slated to offer music and interviews with such music notables as Queens of the Stone Age frontman Joshua Homme, Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy and guitarist Warren DeMartini, Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor, Rick Springfield and more.
