Evanescence, Nickelback, Paramore Members Respond to Colorado Movie Theater Tragedy

Rockers offer condolences to those affected by this week’s Colorado movie theater shooting

Many in the rock music world have sent out statements over Twitter expressing their grief after a gunman opened fire in an Aurora, Colo., movie theater at a midnight showing of the Batman flick “The Dark Knight Rises” early this morning (July 20), killing at least 12 people and injuring dozens more.

Amy Lee of Evanescence tweeted out her thoughts on the horrific event: “Praying for the victims and families in Colorado. What happened is so very wrong. We’re with you.”

Nikki Sixx of Sixx: A.M. echoed Lee’s sentiments over Twitter: “Breaks my heart hearing the news about the shooting’s in Aurora, Colorado. My prayers and thoughts go out to the families and victims.”

Rockers Nickelback stated that they “are sickened and saddened at the senseless tragedy in Aurora, CO. Our thoughts are with all those affected by this terrible event.”

The men of hard rock band Disturbed offered up this statement via Facebook: “Our hearts go out to the families of the victims. Horrific.” Guitarist Joe Perry of Aerosmith tweeted a similar declaration: “My heart goes out to all the victims and their families of the terrible tragedy in Colorado.”

Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams paid her respects to the many people impacted by the calamity, tweeting, “In shock reading about what happened at the theater in Aurora, CO… Could have been any of us. My heart is heavy for everyone affected.”
