Slash says new app allows fans to experience ‘Apocalyptic Love’ in a new way

Slash is getting into modern technology in a big way. Fans of the famed guitarist can now take in his second solo record featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, “Apocalyptic Love,” via their smart phones. The former Guns N’ Roses guitarist has unleashed an interactive app that allows users to check out the hard rock lads perform the record — from front to back — through the virtual lens of six special 360-degree panoramic cameras.

“We recorded this album live, as we played it,” said Slash in an official statement. “The app captures the energy of the band in the best way and [it] allows fans to experience the album just as if they were in the room with us.”

Fans will find two adaptations of the app, titled “SLASH360,” available on iTunes. The simpler introductory version offers one performance of “You’re a Lie,” as well as lyrics and other random content. That app will cost 99 cents. The full version packs the full performance of “Apocalyptic Love” — every track on the album — plus special photos, full lyrics and other fanfare. That version will run $4.99.

Slash and Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators are currently on a North American tour, and a full list of tour dates is available on Slash’s official website. (Courtesy photo via MSO Pr.)
