Green Day set to release a box set of their albums from 1990 to 2009

Not a day seems to go by without another bit of news coming out of Green Day’s camp. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. It’s good to see the band staying active and coming up with creative ideas on a regular basis.

Green Day’s latest endeavor is for those fans that dig the band, but have yet to get their hands on Green Day’s lengthy catalog of music. The pop-punk trio have announced they will release a comprehensive, eight-disc box set featuring their entire catalog this fall. The release, titled “The Studio Albums 1990-2009,” will offer Green Day’s 1990 debut album, “1,039/ Smoothed Out Slappy Hours,” 1992’s “Kerplunk,” 1994’s “Dookie,” 1995’s “Insomniac,” 1997’s “Nimrod,” 2000’s “Warning,” 2004’s “American Idiot” and 2009’s “21st Century Breakdown.” So, yes, this is the full Green Day experience.

“The Studio Albums 1990-2009” will reach retail stores and online outlets on Sept. 4 and will be available only via Best Buy. For more information on the upcoming release, check out Green Day’s official website.

As for the new stuff, the first episode of Green Day’s upcoming trilogy of albums, “¡Uno!,” is scheduled to arrive on Sept. 25. The other two installments, “¡Dos!” and “¡Tré!,” are slated for release on Nov. 13, 2012, and Jan. 15, 2013, respectively.
